AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED AT
THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF MT. VERNON AVENUE AND
BRUNDAGE LANE AND THAT PORTION LYING EAST OF
MT. VERNON AVENUE ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF BRUNDAGE
LANE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission has held a public hearing on
a petition to change the land use zoning of that certain property
in the City of Bakersfield located at the Northwest corner of Mt.
Vernon Avenue and Brundage Lane and that portion lying East of
Mt. Vernon Avenue on the South side of Brundage Lane; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, as a result of said
hearing, did make several general and specific findings of fact
which warranted a negative declaration of environmentall impact
and a change of zoning of the subject property from R-1 and A-W
to M-2, and the Council has considered said findings and all
appear to be true and correct; and
WHEREAS, there appears to be no substantial detrimental
environmental impact which could result from the proposed project;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of said petition and the recommendations of! the Plan-
ning Commission herein on file, together with the reasons advanced
at the hearing ~[or a change of zoning of said property, that a
zoning change should be authorized; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined and found that
this zoning ordinance is consistent with the General Plan of the
City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:

All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to
correct.
An environmental assessment was made of the project,
and a Negative Declaration was adopted by the Planning Commission
after a public hearing thereon, and this Council hereby approves
and adopts the Negative Declaration.
3. Section 17.06.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal
Code of the City of Bakersfield be and the same is hereby amended
by changing the land use zoning of certain property in said City,
the boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto
attached and made a part hereof, as follows:
FROM AN R-1 (ONE FAMILY DWELLING) ZONE AND
FROM AN A-W (AGRICULTURAL-OIL WELL) ZONE TO
AN M-2 (GENERAL MANUFACTURING) ZONE:
Those parcels of land situated in the City
of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of
California, being portions of Section 33,
Township 29 South, Range 28 East, and Section 3,
Township 30 South, Range 28 East, M.D.B.&M.~
being more particularly described as follows:
PARCEL 1: R-1 to M-2
The South 200 feet of the East 206 feet of
said Section 33.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the right-of-way within
Mt. Vernon Avenue and Brundage Lane.
PARCEL 2: A-W to M-2
All that portion of the Northwest Quarter of
said Section 3, lying between the South
right-of-way line of Brundage Lane and the
North right-of-way line of State Route VI -
KER-58.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30)
days from and after the date of its passage.
