AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING CHAPTER 17.50 OF THE
BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTIONS
17.50.040, 17.50.080(I) AND 17.50.090 RELATIVE
TO MH (MOBILEHOME) ZONE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 17.50.040 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
17.50.040 Approval of Plan for Mobilehome Park. Plans and
elevations showing the exterior architectural design and appearance
of all permanent buildings and structures and plot plans showing
locations and dimension of accessways, structures, landscaping,
parking areas and other improvements of the individual mobilehome
park to be established shall be subject to the approval of the
Planning Commission in order that the proposed mobilehome park will
be in harmony with other structures and improvements in the area
and will comply with all standards and requirements as set forth in
Section 17.50.080 and in Chapter 15.68, Title 15, of the Municipal
Code (Mobilehome Parks). In the event the Planning Commission
determines that the mobilehome park as proposed to be developed
does not meet the intent of the regulations set forth in said
chapters and all laws and regulations adopted pursuant thereto, the
Planning Commission shall deny the permit for the mobilehome park.
SECTION 2.
Section 17.50.080(I) of the Bakersfield Municipal
is hereby amended to read as follows:
17.50.080 Mobilehome
Notwithstanding anything

to the contrary stated in the subdivision
or zoning regulations of the City, the following shall be the
minimum standards of development within the MH Zone for Mobilehome
Parks and Subdivisions:
I. Access. The park or subdivision shall have at least two
(2) means of ingress or egress leading to a public street. One
(1) of the access points may be restricted to emergency vehicles
only, with a breakaway barricade or other removable barrier
subject to approval of the Police Chief and Fire Chief.
SECTION 3.
Section 17.50.090 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
17.50.090 Mobilehome Park and Subdivision - Application of State
Law. The provisions of Part 2.1 of Division 13 of the Health and
Safety Code (commencing with Section 18000) and the rules and
regulations promulgated thereunder shall apply to mobilehome
parks and subdivisions in the MH Zone.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30)
days from and after the date of its passage.
