AN OPDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING TITLE 17 OF THE BAKERSFIELD
MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING CHAPTER 17.35 RELATIVE
TO ESTABLISHING RE (RECREATION) ZONE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Chapter 17.35 is hereby added to Title 17 of the Bakersfield
Municipal Code to read as follows:

RE (RECREATION) ZONE
Sections:
17.35.010
17.35.020
17.35.030
17.35.040
RE (Recreation) Zone.
Uses Permitted.
Conditional Uses.
Building Height, Front Yard, Side Yard, Rear Yard,
Minimum Lot Area, Distance Between Buildings on the
Same Lot.
17.35.010 RE (Recreation) Zone. The following regulations
shall apply in the RE (Recreation) Zone unless otherwise provided
in this Title.
17.35.020 Uses Permitted.
A. Archery ranges.
Any of the following uses:
B. Baseball, football, soccer, track,
stadiums or facilities.
C. Equestrian facilities.
D. Golf courses.
E. Gun clubs or shooting ranges.
F. Automotive, cycle or horse racetracks.
G. Racquetball facilities.
H. Swimming pools.
I. Tennis clubs or courts.
J. Support uses to commercial recreation liste~]
including, but not limited
gift and apparel shops.

17.35.030 Conditional Uses. Establishments or enterprises
designed or used for large assemblages of people, with the exception
of those uses identified in Section 17.35.020, may be permitted
upon the granting of a Conditional Use Permit.
17.35.040 Building Height, Front Yard, Side Yard, Rear Yard,
Minimum Lot Area, Distance Between Buildings on the Same Lot. No
fixed restrictions shall apply to these criteria; each shall be
set by the appropriate approving authority under the provisions
of Chapter 17.53 for each proposed use location to avoid detriment
to adjacent property land usage.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30)
days from and after the date of its passage.
