AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 17.02.030 OF
CHAPTER 17.02 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RELATIVE TO PURPOSE OF
ZONING PLAN.
follows:
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
SECTION 1.
Section 17.02.030 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield is hereby amended to read as follows:
17.02.030 Purpose. This zoning plan is adopted to implement the
goals and policies of the General Plan of the City of Bakersfield
which serve to promote and protect the public health, safety, peace,
morals, comfort, convenience and general welfare, and for the accom-
plishment thereof is adopted, among other purposes, for the following
more particularly specified purposes:
A. To assist in providing a definite plan of development for
the City and to guide, control and regulate the future growth of the
City in accordance with said plan; and
B. To protect the established character and the social and
economic stability of agricultural, residential, commercial, indus-
trial and other areas within the City, and to assure the orderly and
beneficial development of such areas.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the City
Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30) days from
and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at. a regular
meeting thereof held on the 31st day of March , 1982, by
the following vote:
