A RESOLUTION WHICH ENDORSES THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF THE GOLDEN STATE
MUSEUM TO BE LOCATED IN SACRAMENTO
IN THE BUILDING THAT HOUSES THE
OFFICES OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE
AND THE STATE ARCHIVES.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield supports the preservation of the history
and culture of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, a non-profit benefit corporation has been established to organize
the development of a Museum which would be the official Museum of the State of
California and have requested endorsement of this activity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Bakersfield that the City does hereby endorse the establishment of the Golden State
Museum by the nonprofit Golden State Museum Public Benefit Corporation and the
Secretary of State.
