AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING WARD BOUNDARIES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 4.04.010 of Chapter 4.04 of the Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
4.04.010 BOUNDARIES OF THE FIRST WARD. The boundaries of
the First Ward are hereby altered to read as follows:
All that part of the City of Bakersfield beginning at the inter-
section of the West line of Union Avenue with the South line of
California Avenue;
Thence Northerly along the West line of Union Avenue to the North
line of California Avenue;
Thence Easterly along the North line of California Avenue to the
centerline of Union Avenue;
Thence Northerly along the centerline of Union Avenue to the
centerline of the A.T.&S.F. Railroad;
Thence Easterly along the A.T.&S.F. Railroad to the centerline of
Beale Avenue;
Thence Southerly along the centerline of Beale Avenue to the
centerline of East Truxtun Avenue;
Thence Easterly on East Truxtun Avenue to the centerline of
Washington Street, said point also being a point on the City
Limit line;

right-of-way line of Route 178 Freeway;
Thence Southwesterly along the South right-of-way line of Route
178 Freeway to the intersection of the prolongation of the North

the West right-of-way line of Haley Street and extensions
thereof to intersect the North right-of-way line of Columbus
Street;
Thence East along the North right-of-way line of Columbus Street
and extensions thereof to intersect the centerline of Hollins
Street;
Thence North along the centerline of Hollins Street to the
centerline of Vanderbilt Drive;
Thence West along the centerline of Vanderbilt Drive to the
centerline of Haley Street;
Thence North along the centerline of Haley Street to the North
right-of-way line of Panorama Drive;
Thence Northeasterly along the North right-of-way line of
Panorama Drive to a point on the East line of the West 450 feet

hereby amended to read as follows:

Fifth Ward are hereby altered to read as follows:
All that part of the City of Bakersfield beginning at the inter-
section of the North line of Stockdale Highway and the East line
of the West Half of Section 34, Township 29 South, Range 27 East,
M.D.B.&M.;
Thence Easterly along the North line of Stockdale Highway to
intersect the East line of said Section 34;
Thence Northerly along the East line of said Section 34 to
intersect the Southerly right-of-way line of the Carrier Canal;
Thence Northeasterly along the Southerly right-of-way line of
the Carrier Canal to intersect the North right-of-way line of
the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad;

Northwest corner of Lot 1 of Tract 1312, said point also being
a point on the City Limit line;

line to the intersection of the West right-of-way line of State
Route 99 Freeway (Bakersfield Bypass) and the North line of
Tract 3497;
Thence Northerly along the West right-of-way line of State Route
99 Freeway to the centerline of Planz Road;
Thence Easterly along the centerline of Planz Road to the center-
line of Hughes Lane;
Thence Northerly along the centerline of Hughes Lane to the
centerline of Oakwood Drive;
Thence Westerly along the centerline of Oakwood Drive to the
centerline of Delburn Street;
Thence Southerly along the centerline of De]~burn Street to the

SECTION 8.
This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with Charter
provisions and shall become effective thirty days from and after
the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 9th day of September , 1981, by
