STATEMENTS
Marvin Dean spoke regarding the Southeast PAC
requests and requested Item 6.a. be deferred to
Council and spoke in support of 6.b.
Jerry Randall, Chairperson, Old Town
Kern/Pioneer, spoke in opposition of the
Southeast PAC request for private
attorney/consultant and spoke in support of Item
6. b.
CONSENT CALENDAR
Minutes of the regular meeting of August 14, 2000.
Payments from August 5, to September 20, 2000
in the amount of $27,798.11.
Motion by Raphael, seconded by Schroeder, to
adopt Consent Calendar Items a. and b.

6. NEW BUSINESS
a.
Southeast PAC request to hire private
attorney/consultant.
Executive Director Alan Tandy gave a brief
update.

Motion by Davenport, seconded by Raphael, to
defer request to hire a private
attorney/consultant until further discussion
with parties involved.
Southeast PAC request to attend redevelopment
conferences.
Assistant City Manager Alan Christensen gave a
brief update.
Motion by Davenport, seconded by Raphael, to
send the Chairpersons of Old Town
Kern/Pioneer and Southeast PACs to
appropriate redevelopment conference.
7. AGENCY STATEMENTS
Davenport requested staff provide the Agency with
dates of upcoming conferences.
Schroeder requested staff review the possibility of
sponsoring a conference in Bakersfield to allow more
people to attend,
Mishoe requested staff review the issue of future
conferences, available funds, and participation
interests.
