AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD REPEALING SECTION 3.14.050(62)
OF THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE
TO AND DEFINING OVERTIME WORK, AND A~NDING
SECTIONS 3.14.120(1) AND (4) RELATIVE TO AND
DEFINING ACTING AND PROBATIONARY APPOINTMENTS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
Section
hereby repealed.
SECTION 1.
3.14.050(62) of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
SECTION 2.
Sections 3.14.120(1) and (4) of the Bakersfield Municipal
Code are amended to read as follows:
3.14.120 Appointments.
(1) Acting. Appointment of a permanent employee to a different
position for a temporary period of time not to exceed six (6)
months.
(4) Probationary. Appointment from a certified civil service
list to a position for a test period to demonstrate fitness for
appointment to a permanent position.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30) days
from and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 10th day of December , 1980, by
