NEW SERIES
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF MING AVENUE AND
BARRINGTON STREET.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission has held a public hearing on
a petition to change the land use zoning of that certain property
in the City of Bakersfield, located on the southwest corner of
Ming Avenue and Barrington Street; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission as a result. of said
hearing did make several general and specific findings of fact
which warranted a negative declaration of environmental impact
and a change of zoning of the subject property from R-1 to R-2-D
and the Council has considered said findings and all appear to be
true and correct; and
WHEREAS, there appears to be no substantial detrimental
environmental impact which could result from the proposed project;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of said petition and
ning Commission herein on file,
at the hearings for a change of
the recommendations of the Plan-
together with the reasons advanced
zoning of said property, that a
zoning change should be authorized; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined and found that
this zoning ordinance is consistent with the General Plan of the
City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to
be true and correct.
2. An environmental assessment was made of the project
and a Negative Declaration was adopted by the Planning Commission
after a public hearing thereon and this
the Negative Declaration.
3. Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map)

the boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto
attached and made a part hereof, as follows:
FROM AN R-1 (ONE FAMILY DWELLING) ZONE TO
AN R-2-D (LIMITED MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING-
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN) ZONE:
A portion of the Northeast Quarter of
Section 9, Township 30 South, Range 27
East, M.D.B.&M., also being a portion of
Parcel A of Parcel Map 4165 recorded August 18,
1977 in Map Book 19 at Page 21 in the
Office of the Kern County Recorder, being
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of
Parcel A of said Parcel Map 4165, said
point also being on a curve concave to the
Northeast with a radial point that bears
North 04°23'15" East and having a radius of
2650.00 feet;
Thence Northwesterly along said curve
through a central angle of 03006'50", an
arc distance of 144.02 feet;
Thence North 08029'50" East, 332.94 feet to
a point on a nontangent curve concave to
the North with a radial point that bears
North 13006'03" East and having a radius of
2255.00 feet;
Thence Easterly along said curve through a
central angle of 03°09'22", an arc distance
of 124.21 feet to a point on a reverse
tangent curve concave to the Southwest and
having a radius of 20.00 feet;
Thence Southerly along said curve through a
central angle of 88°26'00", an arc distance
of 30.89 feet;
Thence South 08026'00" West, 300.00 feet to
the Point of Beginning.
