AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE BY
AMENDING SECTIONS 11.04.766 (SPEED LIMIT ON
STOCKDALE HIGHWAY).
follows:
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
SECTION 1.
That Section 11.04.766 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield be amended to read as follows:
11.04.766 Speed Limit on Stockdale Highway.
(a) A prima facie speed limit of forty-five miles per hour is
determined and declared to be the prima facie speed limit at which
vehicles may travel on that portion of Stockdale Highway that is
within the city limits between the prolongation of the west curb line
of McDonald Avenue and the prolongation of the east curb line of
Cherry Hills Drive.
(b) A prima facie speed limit of fifty miles per hour is hereby
determined and declared to be the prima facie speed limit at which
vehicles may travel on Stockdale Highway that is within the city
limits between the city limit east of E1 Rio Drive and the prolonga-
tion of the east curb line of Via Riata Street.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the City
Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30) days from
and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 16tb day of January , 1980, by
