NEW SERIES
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 5.38.100 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATIVE TO RELIEF AND PENSION
FUND FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 5.38.100 of the Municipal Code of the City
of Bakersfield is amended to read as follows:
5.38.100 Pension Fund - Duties of Finance Director. Excepting
such monies as may be required for current needs, the Finance
Director shall invest such monies belonging to the Fund either in
(1) investments authorized in Section 53601 of the Government Code;
(2) bonds issued by corporations and at the time of purchase bearing
an "A" rating by a national rating system generally recognized and
used by banks and investment brokers in the United States of America;
(3) inactive deposits in state or national banks or state and federal
savings and loan associations or (4) a share account in the Bakersfield
City Employees Federal Credit Union.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30) days
from and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 10th day of October ~ 1979, by
