AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 14.40.040(a)
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 14.40.040(a) of Chapter 14.40 (Sale of Safe
and Sane Fireworks) of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield is hereby amended to read as follows:
14.40.040 Application requirements. (a) Any application
for a permit shall be filed by an officer of an eligible
nonprofit organization or corporation or the operator or authorized
employee of an eligible retail business establishment, with the
Assistant City Manager-Finance, hereinafter called the Collector,
in person and in writing, between March 15 and May 15 of each
year, provided however the City Council may waive the time require-
ment for filing an application upon a showing why the filing was
not timely by reason of inadvertence.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance is an Emergency Ordinance within meaning
of Section 24 of the City Charter and is to take effect upon the
passage by the City Council.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Emergency Ordinance
was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 30th day of May, 1979,
by the following vote:
