AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING TITLE 17 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE PROVIDING FOR SPECIAL DWELLING SETBACKS
ADJOINING AGRICULTURAL (A) AND SUBURBAN
RESIDENTIAL ZONES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield
is hereby amended by adding a new Section 17.52.145 to Chapter 17.52
thereof to provide as follows:
17.52.145 Special Dwelling Setbacks. No dwelling or any part
thereof shall be placed or constructed within fifty feet of any
lot line which adjoins property which is in either the A, R-S,
R-S-1A or R-S-2 1/2 A Zones unless the property upon which the
dwelling is to be placed or constructed is itself within an A,
R-S, R-S-1A or R-S-2 1/2 A zone; provided further that this pro-
vision is not to be construed as prohibiting garages or accessory
buildings, which are not a part of the dwelling, to be placed or
constructed within said fifty-foot setback area.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be published once in the Bakersfield
Californian, a newspaper of general circulation within the City,
not more than fifteen (15) days following its adoption and shall
be in full force and effect thirty (30) days following its adoption.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 19th day of March , 1979, by
