HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD NO 2481ORDINANCE NO. 2481 NEW SERIES AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTIONS 7.52.210 AND 7.52.270(d) OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE TO LIMOUSINE SERVICE RATES AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: SECTION 1. That Section 7.52.210 of the Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: 7.52.210 Rates For Chauffered Limousine Service. The rates or fares to be charged the public by chauffeured limousines shall be such as are prescribed in the carrier's permit, and shall be not less than the minimum nor more than the maximum rates which are fixed as follows: (a) The minimum rate shall be fifteen dollars per hour or one dollar per mile, whichever is the greater, and the hourly rate shall be computed in fractions of one-half hour. The minimum charge for chauffeured limousine service shall be the rate for one-half hour. (b) The maximum rate shall be thirty dollars per hour or one dollar twenty-five cents per mile, whichever is the greater, add the hourly rate shall be computed in fractions of one-half hour. The minimum charge for chauffeured limousine service shall be the rate for one-half hour. That Section to read as follows: SECTION 2. 7.52.270(d) of the Municipal Code is amended (d) No driver's permit shall be issued to any such applicant who is under the age of eighteen years, or who is not the holder of a valid, unrevoked and unsuspended class 3 license issued by the State of California. A prior conviction of any of the offenses mentioned in subsection (a) of Section 7.52.280 shall be a good cause for denial of the driver's permit, provided the Chief of Police shall deem the applicant unfit to be the holder of such permit by reason of such conviction. The Chief of Police shall consult such records and consider evidence as is available to him at of the time of acting on the application to determine the fitness applicant.
