A RESOLUTION DISPENSING WITH BIDDING
UNDER SECTION 3.20.060 OF THE
BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING
TO THE PURCHASE OF A GRIT CLASSIFIER
FOR USE AT WASTEWATER TREATMENT
PLANT 2 AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE
DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH THE BIDDING
THEREFORE, NOT TO EXCEED $33,500.00.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield has need to replace the existing Grit Classifier
located at Wastewater Treatment Plant 2; and
WHEREAS, the equipment and materials cannot be reasonably obtained from more
than one vendor because of the unique design of the existing equipment and materials in
place; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Director recommends the Council find said equipment and
materials cannot be reasonably obtained from more than one vendor and recommends the
Council dispense with bidding under Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by
reference.
The equipment and materials cannot be reasonably obtained from more than
one vendor because of the restricted availability of the equipment and
materials.
The Finance Director is authorized to dispense with bidding in accordance
with Subsection 3.20060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code in an amount not
to exceed $33,500.00.
