AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 17.12.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.12 (ZONING MAP) OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, REGARDING
PROPERTY KNOWN AS PACHECO NO. 8 ANNEXATION.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a motion to zone certain property now
being annexed to said City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of the motion and recommendation of the Planning
Commission, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearing for the zoning of said property, that said zoning
should be authorized upon annexation of said property to the
City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12.020 of Chapter 17.12 (Zoning Map) of
the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is
hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to include
those certain properties in the County of Kern located on the
southwest and southeast corners of Pacheco Road and Monitor Street,
known as Pacheco No. 8 Annexation, in an R~I (One Family Dwelling)
Zone and in an R-2-D (Limited Multiple Family Dwelling-Architectural
Design) Zone, upon the annexation of said property to the City of
Bakersfield, the boundaries of which property are shown on the
map hereto attached and made a part of this ordinance, and are
more specifically described as follows:
To an R-1 (One Family Dwelling) Zone:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State
of California, being a portion of Section 19, Township
30 South, Range 28 East, MDB&M, more particularly de-
scribed as follows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of the east half
of the northeast quarter of the northwest quarter
of said Section 19, said corner being a point in
the existing exterior Corporate Boundary of the
City of Bakersfield;
THENCE (1) easterly, southerly, easterly and south-
erly along said exterior Corporate Boundary to inter-
sect the south line of the north half of the north
half of said Section 19;
THENCE (2) departing from said Corporate Boundary
westerly along said south line a distance of 1320
feet, more or less, to intersect the west line of
the east half of the northeast quarter of the north-
west quarter of said section;
THENCE (3) northerly along said west line a distance
of 1320 feet, more or less, to the Point of Beginning.
EXCEPTING therefrom the N 209.2 feet of the East 1/2
of the NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 19, T30S, R28E,
MDB&M, and the right-of-way within Pacheco Road.
To an R-2-D (Limited Multiple Family Dwelling-
Architectural Design) Zone:
The N. 209.2 feet of the East 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of
the NW 1/4 of Section 19, T30S, R28E, MDB&M, and the
right-of-way within Pacheco Road.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective upon the annexation
of the above-described territory to the City of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 13th day of December , 1978, by
