AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING TITLE 17 OF THE BAKERSFIELD
MUNICIPAL CODE TO PERMIT AUTOMOTIVE TUNE-UP
SPECIALTY SHOPS SUBJECT TO A CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT IN THE C-1 ZONE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Bakers-
field as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 17.25.026 of Chapter 17.25 of Title 17 of the
Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield is hereby amended by
adding thereto a new subsection (17) to provide as follows:
(17) Automobile tune-up specialty shops providing electri-
cal and carburetor tune-up services and related work, when not done
as a part of, or incidental to, the operation of an automobile
service station, excluding heavy or major mechanical work such as
would require removing the cylinder head or transmission, and
excluding all body repair or paint work.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be published once in the Bakersfield
Californian, a newspaper of general circulation within the city,
not more than fifteen (15) days following its adoption and shall be
in full force and effect thirty (30) days following its adoption.

SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective upon the annexation
of the above-described territory to the City of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 13th day of December , 1978, by
the following vote:
