AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO RESOLUTION NO. 076-06
DISPENSING WITH BIDDING PROCEDURES FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF A PERMANENT PUMP STATION
FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT NO.3, NOT TO
EXCEED $10,800,000, DUE TO IMMINENT THREAT TO
PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, AND WELFARE.
WHEREAS, on March 8, 2006, City Council adopted Resolution No. 076-06
dispensing with bidding procedures for construction of a permanent pump station for
Wastewater Treatment Plant NO.3 due to an imminent threat to public health, safety,
and welfare; and
WHEREAS, the initial estimate of the final project cost was $8,000,000 and was
based on 30% complete plans and on the cost of materials at that time; and
WHEREAS, since the design plans for the pump station are now complete, and
the construction of the pump station is 75% complete, more definitive cost estimates are
now available; and
WHEREAS, the cost of materials, including concrete, steel, and electrical wiring,
has increased since the initial estimate was made; and
WHEREAS, all of these things being taken into consideration, the current
estimate of the final project cost is $10,800,000; and
WHEREAS, an additional appropriation of $2,800,000 is needed to complete the
construction of the pump station; and
WHEREAS, the pump station needs to be completed as soon as possible to
replace the failing pump station and to preserve the public health, safety, and welfare.
Total amended costs for this project will not exceed $10,800,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference.
2. Resolution No. 076-06 is hereby amended to increase the estimated final
project cost of construction of the permanent pump station for \NWTP No.
3 from $8,000,000 to $10,800,000.
