NEW SERIES
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD DELETING CHAPTER 1.50 (DIVISION
OF MUNICIPAL TRANSIT) AND ADDING CHAPTER 1.50,
DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES,
TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
BE
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Chapter 1.50 of the Municipal
Municipal Transit" is hereby deleted.
IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
Code entitled "Division of
SECTION 2.
That a new Chapter 1.50, entitled "Department of Fire and
Development Services" is hereby added to Title 1 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Bakersfield as follows:

DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

Creation of Department.
Office of Department of Fire and Development Services.
Responsibility of Department.
Duties of Department Head.
1.50.010 Creation of Department. There is
Department of Fire and Development Services.
hereby created the
1.50.020 Office of Department of Fire and Development Services.
The office of Fire and Development Services shall be by appointment
of the City Manager.
1.50.030 Responsibility of Department. The Department of Fire
and Development Services shall have general supervision and shall
be the appointive power over the Fire Department, Planning Department,
Building Department and Domestic Water System.
1.50.040 Duties of Department Head. The duties of the depart-
ment head shall be as follows:
A.
Supervise the activities of the employees of the department.
B. Supervise administrative and clerical work and prepare
the budget for the various departments under his jurisdiction.
C. Attend meetings, consult with, and advise, the City
Manager on matters within the department.
D. Make recommendations from time to time on the operation
of the department.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall become
