AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 17.12.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.12 (ZONING MAP) OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, REGARDING
PROPERTY KNOWN AS "TERRACE WAY NO. 3"
ANNEXATION.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a motion of the Planning Commission to
zone certain property now being annexed to said City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of the motion and the recon~nendation of the Planning
Commission, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearing for the zoning of said property, that said zoning
should be authorized upon annexation of said property to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12.020 of Chapter 17.12
the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be
(Zoning Map) of
and the same is
hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to include
that certain property in the County of Kern located on the west
side of South "H" Street, between State Freeway Route 58 and
Terrace Way, known as "TERRACE WAY NO. 3" Annexation, in an R-1
(One Family Dwelling) Zone, in an R-1-CH (One Family Dwelling-
Church) Zone and in an R-2-D (Limited Multiple Family Dwelling-
Architectural Design) Zone upon the annexation of said property
to the City of Bakersfield, the boundaries of which property are
shown on the map hereto attached and made a part of this ordinance,
and are more specifically described as follows:
PARCEL 1:
To an R-1 (One Family Dwelling) Zone:
The south 142 feet of the east 210.26 feet
of the west 330.27 feet, and the south 150
feet + of the west 192 feet of the east
300.2~ feet of Lot 16 of Section 1, Town-
ship 30 South, Range 27 East. All in the
County of Kern, State of California.
PARCEL 2:
To an R-1-CH (One Family Dwelling-Church) Zone:
A parcel of land situate in the County of
Kern, State of California, being a portion
of the northeast quarter of Section 1, Town-
ship 30 South, Range 27 East, M.D.M., and
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the west
line of the east 30 feet of said Section
1 with the north right-of-way line of
Terrace Way of 60 feet in width, said point
being the southeast corner of Lot 16 of said
Section 1 as shown on the "Sales Map No. 1
of Lands of J. B. Haggin," filed for record
May 3, 1889, in the office of the County
Recorder, said point also being a point in
the existing Corporate Boundary of the City
of Bakersfield;
Thence (1) departing from said Corporate
Boundary, westerly along said north right-
of-way line a distance of 510.53 feet more
or less to intersect the east line of the
west 120 feet of said Lot 16, said point
being a point in said Corporate Boundary;
Thence (2) generally northerly, easterly and
southerly along various courses of said
Corporate Boundary to the Point of Beginning.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the south 301.6 feet, and
the right-of-way within Route 58 Freeway and
South H" Street.
PARCEL 3:
To an R-2-D (Limited Multiple Family Dwelling-
Architectural Design) Zone:
The south 301.6 feet of the east 300.26 feet
of Lot 16 of Section 1, Township 30 South,
Range 27 East.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the south 150 feet + of
the west 192 feet, and the right-of-way-within
South "H" Street. All in the County of Kern,
State of California.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective upon the annexation
of the above-described territory to the City of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 8th day of February, 1978, by the follow-
ing vote:
