AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 17.12.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.12 (ZONING MAP) OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, REGARDING
PROPERTY KNOWN AS HARRIS NO. 1 ANNEXATION.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a motion of the Planning Commission to
zone certain property now being annexed to said City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of the motion and the recommendation of the Planning
Commission, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearing for the zoning of said property, that said zoning should
be authorized upon annexation of said property to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12.020 of Chapter 17.12 (Zoning Map) of
the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is
hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to include
that certain property in the County of Kern located approximately
1,000 feet east of Stine Road, known as HARRIS NO. 1 ANNEXATION,
in an R-S (Residential-Suburban) Zone upon the annexation of said
property to the City of Bakersfield, the boundaries of which pro-
perty are shown on the map hereto attached and made a part of this
ordinance, and are more specifically described as follows:
To an R-S (Residential-Suburban) Zone:
A parcel of land situate in the County of KeI~,
State of California, being a portion of Section
23, Township 30 South, Range 27 East M.D.M., and
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the south line of the
northwest 1/4 of said Section 23, being the
southeast corner of Tract 3270 as recorded in Map
Book 21 at Page 71, in the office of the County
Recorder, said point bears south 89o41'46" east,
a distance of 966.57 feet from the southwest corner
of said northwest 1/4;
Thence (1) north 0o00'49" east along the east line
of said Tract 3270, a distance of 1323.25 feet to
a point in the north line of the south 1/2 of the
northwest 1/4 of said Section 23, said point being
in the exterior Corporate Boundary of the City of
Bakersfield;
Thence (2) south 89°40'32" east along said north
line and along said exterior boundary, a distance
of 1016.00 feet to a point in the east line of the
west 1/2 of the southeast 1/4 of the northwest 1/4
of said Section 23, said point being the northwest
corner of Tract 3132 as recorded in Map Book 16 at
Page 64 in the office of the County Recorder;
Thence (3) departing from said exterior Corporate
Boundary, south 0°00'49" west, along the west line
of said Tract 3132 a distance of 1322.89 feet to
the southeast corner of the west 1/2 of the south-
east 1/4 of the northwest 1/4 of said Section 23;
Thence (4) south 0°01'18" west a distance of 45.00
feet;
Thence (5) north 89°41'46" west a distance of
132.56 feet to a point in the exterior Corporate
Boundary of the City of Bakersfield; thence along
said Corporate Boundary the following two courses;
Thence (6) north 0°01'18" east a distance of 15.00
feet;
Thence (7) north 89o41'46" west a distance of 883.44
feet;
Thence (8) departing frgm said Corporate Boundary
north 0°01'18" east a distance of 30.00 feet to
the Point of Beginning.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion which lies within
the right-of-way of Harris Road.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 26th day of October, 1977, by the follow-
ing vote:
