AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SUBSECTION (a)
OF SECTION 3.18.110 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE CONCERNING ACTING APPOINTMENTS OF
PERMANENT EMPLOYEES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That subsection (a) of Section 3.18.110 of Chapter 3.18
of Title 3 of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield is
hereby amended to read as follows:
(a) Acting Appointments of Permanent Employees and Rates
of Pay. Department heads, with the approval of the City Manager,
may assign the duties and responsibilities of a vacant position to a
permanent employee for a period of time not to exceed six months.
Such appointments in excess of six months may be made with
the approval of the appropriate Civil Service Board. The compensa-
tion shall be within the salary range of the class so assigned.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective
and after the date of its approval.
