AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING
SECTION 14.40.040 (a) OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE CONCERNING FILING DEADLINE FOR
FILING APPLICATIONS FOR FIREWORKS
PERMITS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
That subsection
SECTION 1.
(a) of Section 14.40.040 of Chapter
14.40 of Title 14 of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield
is hereby amended to read as follows:
(a) Any application for a permit shall be filed by an
officer of an eligible nonprofit organization or corporation or
the operator or authorized employee of an eligible retail busi-
ness establishment, with the City Finance Director, hereinafter
called the CoIlector, in person and in writing between March 15
and May 30 of each year.
SECTION 2~
This emergency ordinance shall become effective upon
adoption by the City Council.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing emergency ordinance
was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 23rd day' of May, 1977, by
