ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioners: Blockley, Johnson, Stanley, Andrews, McGinnis, Tragish, Tkac Absent: Commissioners: None 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: 3. PUBLIC STATEMENTS: No public statements with Commissioner Tkac arriving at 5:32 p.m. 4. CONSENT CALENDAR: 4.1 Non-Public Hearing Items th Commissioner Johnson amended the 12 line, page 2, of the August 2, 2007 minutes to read “He inquired about the insertions of the Westside Beltway and Westside Parkway being built out by the year 2016 and specifically with respect to the Westside Parkway wherein the City received funding for the portion from the Truxtun Corporation yard……” Commissioner McGinnis moved, seconded by Commissioner Tkac, to approve the amended minutes for the regular Planning Commission Meeting of August 2, 2007. Motion unanimously approved. 4.2 Public Hearing Items 4.2a Approval of Extension of Time Vesting Tentative Parcel Map 11119 (Phased) (McIntosh & Associates) 4.2b Approval of Extension of Time Vesting Tentative Tract Map 6318 (Cornerstone Engineering) 4.2c Approval of Tentative Parcel Map 11614 (Wiley D. Hughes) 4.2d Approval of Tentative Parcel Map 11670 (Cornerstone Engineering) 4.2e Approval of Vesting Tentative Tract Map 6807 (Stantec Consulting Inc.) 4.2f Approval of Vesting Tentative Tract Map 6875 (SmithTech/USA Inc.) 4.2g Approval of Continuance of Zone Change 07-1077 to October 4, 2007 (Marino & Associates) Public Hearing is closed. Commissioner Tkac moved, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, to approve the consent calendar hearing items with the removal of item 4.2c which will be re-advertised and re-noticed for a later Planning Commission Meeting date. Motion unanimously approved. Planning Commission – September 6, 2007 Page 2 5.PUBLIC HEARINGS – Parcel Maps/Vesting Tentative Tract Maps/Zone Change 5.1 Tentative Parcel Map 11614 (Wiley D. Hughes) Item was pulled from agenda. 5.2 Tentative Parcel Map 11670 (Cornerstone Engineering) Item was heard on consent. 5.3 Vesting Tentative Tract Map 6807 (Stantec Consulting Inc.) Item was heard on consent. 5.4 Vesting Tentative Tract Map 6875 (SmithTech/USA Inc.) Item was heard on consent. 5.5 Zone Change 07-1077 (Marino & Associates) Item was heard on consent. 6. COMMUNICATIONS: Assistant Planning Director, Jim Eggert, reminded the Commission that the next meeting is a General Plan Cycle with 3 EIR’s, including the two Wal-Mart projects, there will also be a Pre-Meeting on Monday, September 17, 2007. 7. COMMISSION COMMENTS: Commissioner Johnson stated that he lives in the Auburn/Oswell area which is currently undergoing construction and he attended the TRIP seminar at Highland High school regarding Hwy 178 and the Fairfax future interchange. At this seminar he heard several complaints regarding traffic backing up on north bound Oswell as it terminates at the Auburn intersection and at Mall View Road and Bernard due to the construction. He inquired if during the construction period the City could make this situation a little easier and safer for the residents by synchronizing signal lights or having a Police Officer direct traffic. Staff responded that they would look into it. Commissioner Tragish inquired about an update on Cal State Bakersfield and their plans for development. When he last spoke to Mr. Movius he was told that they were having a meeting on their EIR but hasn’t heard anything since. Staff responded that they will have an answer for him at the next meeting. 8. ADJOURNMENT: 5:41 p.m. JAMES D. MOVIUS, Secretary Planning Director October 8, 2007
