A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AWARDING CONTRACT TO CCG
SYSTEMS INC. FOR FLEET MANAGEMENT
INFORMATION SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Municipal Code requires that certain contracts be
awarded through a competitive bid process; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Clovis recently went through a formal bid process for
Fleet Management Software; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Clovis awarded the bid to the low-bidder, CCG Systems,
Inc. of Norfolk, Virginia; and,
WHEREAS, the bid has provisions for other governmental agencies to
"piggyback" on the bid, and CCG Systems Inc. has agreed to allow the City of
Bakersfield to "piggyback" in order to allow the City of Bakersfield to award a contract to
CCG Systems, Inc. under the same terms and conditions as set forth in the City of
Clovis bid; and,
WHEREAS, piggybacking on the City of Clovis' bid will allow the City of
Bakersfield to obtain the software and installation services that meet City requirements
and save city staff time required if this item were to be separately bid by the City of
Bakersfield; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the agreement, CCG Systems Inc., will
install new fleet management software, known as Faster, that will replace HTE's fleet
management module.
NOW, THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
1. That the above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein
by reference.
2. The Finance Director or his designee is hereby authorized to "piggyback"
off the bid prepared by the City of Clovis and contract with CCG Systems,
Inc., for the purchase of fleet management Faster software.
