AN ORDINANCE APPROVING ANNEXATION OF A
PARCEL OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, DESIG-
NATED AS "MANOR NO. 1," AND PROVIDING
FOR THE TAXATION OF SAID TERRITORY TO PAY
THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, an application was filed with the Local Agency
Formation Commission on the 7th day of January, 1977, requesting
that certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to
and incorporated within the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the territory is contiguous territory to be
annexed; and
WHEREAS, the said territory does not form a part of any
other city; and
WHEREAS, prior to the date hereof there has been filed
in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, a
written consent, signed by the owners of the entire real property
constituting the entire value of the territory, that said territory
be subjected to taxation after the completion of such annexation
equally with the property in the City of Bakersfield to pay the
bonded indebtedness of said City therein described, as provided for
in Ordinances Nos. 893, New Series; 950, New Series; 1112, New Series;
1229, New Series; 1364, New Series; and 1593, New Series, all of the
City of Bakersfield, and any and all other indebtedness or liability
of the City outstanding or authorized on and after the date of com-
pletion of said annexation, and this Council hereby determines that
said consent is signed by the owners of the entire real property
constituting the entire value of the territory, and complies in
every respect with the provisions of Section 35319 of the Government
Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance is adopted pursuant to the pro-
visions of Section 35015 of the Government Code of the State of
California, providing for summary annexation of uninhabited territory
where all owners of said territory consent to said annexation; that
said annexation is pursuant to Chapter 1, Part 2, Division 2 of the
Government Code of the State of California; that the Local Agency
Formation Commission in Kern County has given its approval on the
22d day of March, 1977, to said proposed annexation pursuant to
Section 54797.1 of the Government Code of the State of California;
and that the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed
to the City of Bakersfield are specifically described and set forth
in this ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That the City Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby
approves the annexation to and inclusion within the incorporated
limits of the City of Bakersfield, of that certain uninhabited
territory designated as "MANOR NO. 1," and it is hereby further
ordained that said territory be and the same is hereby annexed to
said City; that said territory is described as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a portion of Sections 17 and 18, Township 29 South, Range
28 East, M.D.B.& M., more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the northeast corner of said Section 18; thence S 0°
55'17"E, 2681.21 feet, to the west one-quarter corner of said Section
17, being the true point of beginning;
Thence (1) S 89°03'17"E, along the south line of the NW 1/4 of said
Section 17, 676.14 feet, to intersect the Corporate Boundary of the
City of Bakersfield;
Thence (2) along said Corporate Boundary the following 6 courses;
S 54°25'25'~, 496.05 feet;
Thence (3) S 63°10'35'~, 633.24 feet;
Thence (4) S 46°23'53'~, 518.380 feet, to intersect the east right-of-
way line of Manor Street, of 150 feet in width;
Thence (5) S 63°52'25'~, 150.00

curve, concave to the southwest,

Thence (7) northwesterly along said curve, through a central angle
10°48'13", an arc distance of 555.871 feet;
Thence (8) departing from said Corporate Boundary, N 54°12'10"E, 150
feet to intersect the east right-of-way line of said Manor Street,
being the beginning of a curve, concave to the southeast and having
a radius of 720 feet; and from which intersection the radial point
of the said curve bears S 30°21'01"E;
Thence (9) easterly along said curve through a central angle of 11°
29'43" an arc distance of 144.45 feet, to intersect the south line
of the north 30 feet of the SE 1/4 of said Section 18;
Thence (10) S 89°33'29"E, 992.914 feet to intersect the east line
of the SE 1/4 of said Section 18;
Thence (11) N 1°01'36'~, 30.00 feet to the point of beginning.
Containing 19.91 acres, more or less.
Said territory, and the property located therein, shall,
upon the completion of the annexation of the same to the City of
Bakersfield, be subjected to taxation equally with other property
in the City of Bakersfield to pay the bonded indebtedness of the
City of Bakersfield, described in the aforementioned consent of the
owners of property, located therein, the issuance of bonds to repre-
sent said indebtedness being provided for in Ordinances Nos. 893,
New Series; 950, New Series; 1112, New Series; 1229, New Series;
1364, New Series; and 1593, New Series, all of said City, and any
and all other indebtedness or liability of the City outstanding or
authorized on and after the date of completion of said annexation.

SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective thirty days from
the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 2d day of May, 1977, by the following
