AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ADDING SECTIONS 17.08.152 AND
17.08.432 TO TITLE 17 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO DEFINITIONS OF DAY NURSERY AND
NURSERY SCHOOL.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.08.152 is hereby added to Chapter 17.08
of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield to
read as follows:
17.08,152 Day Nursery. A "day nursery" is a building in which
care and supervision are provided during a portion of the day for
children, not members of the operator's family; provided that care
for two or less individual children during any 24-hour period shall
not be considered a day nursery.
SECTION 2.
That Section 17.08.432 is hereby added to Chapter 17.08
of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield to
read as follows:
17.08.432 Nursery School. "Nursery School" shall mean the same
as "Day Nursery."
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall become effective thirty days from
and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 19th day of April, 1976, by the
