2271 NEW SERIES
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
ON THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF PANORAMA DRIVE
AND COLUMBUS STREET.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a petition to change the land use zoning
of that certain property in the City of Bakersfield located on the
southeast corner of Panorama Drive and Columbus Street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of said petition and the recommendations of the Planning
Commission herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearings for a change of zoning of said property, that a zoning
change should be authorized; and
WHEREAS, the City Council had determined and found that
this zoning ordinance is consistent with the General Plan of the
City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of certain property in said City, the
boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto attached
and made a part hereof, as follows:
Amending the zoning boundaries from an R-1
(One Family Dwelling) Zone to an R-3-D
(Limited Multiple Family Dwelling - Architec-
tural Design) Zone, of that certain property
in the City of Bakersfield located on the
southeast corner of Panorama Drive and Columbus
Street, being more particularly described as
follows:
Being a certain parcel of land situated in the
northwest quarter of Section 14, T 29 S, R 28 E,
M.D.B.& M., in the City of Bakersfield, County
of Kern, State of California described as foillows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the
centerline of Columbus Street with the center-
line of Panorama Drive;
Thence, (1) southerly along the centerline of
Columbus Street S 21~41'57~ W, a distance of
79.06 feet to the beginning of a curve concave
northwesterly and having a radius of 1,000 feet;
Thence, (2) along said curve, and centerline,
through a central angle of 07°49'56", an arc
distance of 136.70 feet to a point of tangency;
Thence, (3) continuing along said centerline
S 29°31'53" W, 320.77 feet;
Thence, (4) departing from centerline S 60°
28'00" E, 266.59 feet;
Thence, (5) N 31°40'53" E, 608.37 feet to an.
intersection with the extension of the center-
line of Panorama Drive and a curve concave to
the south and having a radius of 1,000 feet
and a central angle of 13°58'32";
Thence, (6) westerly along said curve, an arc
distance of 243.29 feet;
Thence, (7) N 68o18'03" W, 95.63 feet to the
point of beginning.
EXCEPTING any portion thereof lying within the
right-of-way of Columbus Street and Panorama
Drive.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 5th day of April, 1976, by the follow-
ing vote:
