AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF HARRIS ROAD, BETWEEN
STACEY STREET AND STINE ROAD.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a petition to change the land use zoning
of that certain property in the City of Bakersfield located on the
south side of Harris Road, between Stacey Street and Stine Road; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of said petition and the recommendations of the Planning
Commission herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearings for a change of zoning of said property, that a zoning
change should be authorized; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined and found that
this zoning ordinance is consistent with the General Plan of the
City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of certain property in said City, the
boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto attached
and made a part hereof, as follows:
Amengin~ the zoning boundaries from an MH
(Mobilehome) Zone to an R-1 (One Family
Dwelling) Zone:
All that portion of the southwest 1/4 of
Section 23, Township 30 South, Range 27
East, M.D.B.M. in the County of Kern, State
of California, described as follows:
Commencing at the northwest corner of the
southwest 1/4 of said Section 23, Thence
south 89041'46" east, along the north line
of said southwest 1/4, a distance of 1579.00
feet to the true point of beginning; Thence
continuing south 89°41'46" east, a distance
of 271.00 feet, more or less, to the north-
west corner of Tract 3314, as per Map recorded
February 27, 1970, in Book 18, pages 196 and
197 of Maps, i~ the office of the County
Recorder of said County; Thence south 0 01'18"
west along the west boundary of said Tract
3314, a distance of 1085.00 feet, more or less,
to a point in the north line of Lot 43 of said
Tract 3314; Thence North 89°41'46" west, a
distance of 271.00 feet, more or less, to a
point in the east line of the parcel of land
conveyed to Peter V. Harrington, et al., in
the deed recorded January 28, 1972, in Book
4626, Page 915 of Officia~ Records; Thence
North 00°01'18" East, a distance of 1085.00
feet, more or less, to the true point of
beginning.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the east 136 feet and the
right-of-way within Harris Road.
From.an M~ (Mobilehome) Zone to an R-S
(Residential Suburban) Zone:
All that portion of the southwest 1/4 of Section
23, Township 30 South, Range 27 East, M.D.B.M.
in the County of Kern, State of California,
described as follows:

south 89o41'46" east, along the north line

the right-of-way within Harris Road.

and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 2d day of February, 1976, by the follow-
