NEW SERIES
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
ON THE EAST SIDE OF OAK STREET, APPROXIMATELY
300 FEET NORTH OF 21ST STREET.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a petition to change the land use zoning
of that certain property in the City of Bakersfield located on the
east side of Oak Street, approximately 300 feet north of 21st Street;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of said petition and the reconm~endations of the Planning
Commission herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearings for a change of zoning of said property, that a zoning
change should be authorized; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined and found that
this zoning ordinance is consistent with the General Plan of the
City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of certain property in said City, the
boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto attached
and made a part hereof, as follows:
Amending the zoning boundaries from an R-3-D
(Limited Multiple Family Dwelling - Architectural
Design) Zone to an R-3-D-P (Limited Multiple
Family Dwelling - Architectural Design - Automobile
Parking) Zone of that certain property in the City
of Bakersfield located on the east side of Oak
Street, approximately 300 feet north of 21st Street,
being more particularly described as follows:
Those portions of Blocks 463-C, 463-B, 463-A
and of the Carrier Canal right-of-way (formerly
known as the Stine Extension Canal Reservation)
adjacent to said blocks, together with vacated
streets and alleys therein, according to the
official map of the City of Bakersfield, lying
northerly and westerly of the following described
line:
Beginning at the northwest corner of said Block
463-B; thence along the north line of said Block
463-B, its easterly prolongation and the north
line of said 463-A, south 89°09'30" east, 535.07
feet; thence, along the line described as Course
(2) in that certain grant deed recorded March 22,
1960, in the office of the County Recorder of said
Kern County, in Book 3251 of Official Records at
Page 182, south 82°32'00" West, 61.808 feet to
the true point of beginning; thence south 36050'
15" west, 97.085 feet; thence south 19o31'38"
west, 354.409 feet; thence south 00o26'53" west,
243.472 feet; thence north 89o11'00" west 294.704
feet to the southerly prolongation of the west
line of said Block 463-C.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the following:
1) All that property which lies northerly of
the north right-of-way line of the alley in said
Block 463-C and its easterly extension;
2) Those portions within the right-of-way of
Oak Street and the Carrier Canal, all within the
City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of
California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 15th day of December, 1975, by the
following vote:
