AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
ON THE NORTH SIDE OF STOCKDALE HIGHWAY IN THE
5000 BLOCK.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a petition to change the land use zoning
of that certain property in the City of Bakersfield located on the
north side of Stockdale Highway in the 5000 block; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of said petition and the recommendations of the Planning
Co~m~ission herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearings for a change of zoning of said property, that a zoning
change should be authorized; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined and found that
this zoning ordinance is consistent with the General Plan of the
City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of certain property in said City,
the boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto
attached and made a part hereof, as follows:
Changing the zoning boundaries from an '~" (Agri-
cultural) Zone to a C~O-D (Con~nercial and Pro-
fessional Office - Architectural Design) Zone
of that certain property in the City of Bakersfield
located on the north side of Stockdale Highway in
the 5000 block, being more particularly described
as follows:
That portion of the Southeast Quarter (SE~) of
Section Thirty-four (34), Township Twenty-nine
(29) South, Range Twenty-seven (27) East, Mount
Diablo Meridian, more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the East line
of said Section 34 and the Northerly right-of-way
line of Stockdale Highway, which point of inter-
section lies North 00°05'18" West, 85.00 feet
from the Southeast corner of said Section 34;
thence along said Northerly right-of-way line,
South 89°56'12" West, 272.778 feet to Point B
as described in that certain Grant Deed to
Occidental Petroleum Corporation, a corporation,
recorded October 5, 1964, in the Office of the
Kern County Recorder in Book 3772 of Official[
Records at page 285; thence along the easterly
boundary of said parcel, North 23006'57" East,
126.036 feet (record bearing shown as South
24o07'54" West, 126.03 feet); thence North
17o58'22" East, 477.42 feet (record bearing
shown as South 18°59'19" West, 477.42 feet) to
the northeast corner of said parcel; thence
North 89o57'42" East, 75.104 feet to the East
line of said Section 34; thence along said East
line, South 00°05'18" East, 569.789 feet to the
point of beginning.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 18th day of November, 1974, by the
