AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERMFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
ON THE WESTERLY SIDE OF COLUMBUS STREET AND
LYING APPROXIMATELY 225 FEET NORTHERLY OF
CHRISTMAS TREE LANE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a petition to change the land use zoning
of that certain property in the City of Bakersfield located on the
westerly side of Columbus Street and lying approximately 225 feet
northerly of Christmas Tree Lane; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of said petition and the recommendations of the Planning
Commission herein on file, together with the reasons ac~anced at
the hearings for a change of zoning of said property, that a zoning
change should be authorized; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined and found that
this zoning ordinance is consistent with the General Plan of the
City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT oRDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of certain property in said City, the
boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto attached
and made a part hereof, as follows:
Changing the zoning boundaries from an R-1
(One Family Dwelling) Zone to an R-3-D (Limited
Multiple Family Dwelling - Architectural Design)
Zone, of that certain 572 feet frontage on the
Westerly side of Columbus Street and lying
approximately 225 feet Northerly of Christmas
Tree Lane, being more particularly described as
follows:
Lot 13 of Tract No. 3513, City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California, as per Map
recorded September 28, 1973 in Map Book 25,
Page 9, in the Office of the County Recorder
of said county; along with the following-
described parcel:
Beginning at the SW corner of said Lot 13;
thence S 29°31'53" W~ 70' more or less to the
north line of the SW~ of the NW~ of Section 14,
T29S, R28E, M.D.B.& M.; thence N 89°32'36" E
along said North line of the SW~ of the NW~,
140' more or less to the south line of said
Lot 13; thence N 60o28'07" W along said soutlh
line of Lot 13 to the Point of Beginning.
EXCEPTING.THEREFROM that portion w~ich lies
within said SW~ of the NW~ of Section 14.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 22d day of July , 1974, by the following
