HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 105-98RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT CERTAIN USED VEHICLES CANNOT BE REASONABLY OBTAINED THROUGH USUAL BIDDING PROCEDURES AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH FORMAL BIDDING THEREFOR, NOT TO EXCEED $331,600.00 (SEVENTEEN REPLACEMENT SEDANS FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT). WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield Police Department is in need of seventeen (17) replacement used vehicles for use within the Police Department; and WHEREAS, the unique characteristics involved with the purchase of used vehicles make it impractical for normal bidding procedures; and WHEREAS, the Finance Director has determined that the purchasing of certain used vehicles can only be reasonably obtained from one vendor because multiple bids for like vehicles cannot be obtained, and has recommended that this Council authorize dispensing with bidding therefor, in accordance with Section 3.20.030(D) of the Bakersfield Municipal Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: The Council hereby finds that the purchase of seventeen (17) used vehicles for the City of Bakersfield Police Department can only be reasonably obtained from one (1) vendor because of the unique characteristics involved with the purchase of used equipment, and authorize the Finance Director to dispense with bidding therefor and to negotiate the purchase of same, not to exceed $331,600.00. .......... 000 ..........
