A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ADOPTING THE
VINELAND ROAD/STATE ROUTE 178
INTERCHANGE SPECIFIC PLAN LINE
RECITALS
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield adopted the State Route 178 Specific Plan Line
on May 11, 1995; and
WHEREAS, said Specific Plan Line did not include any interchanges; and
WHEREAS, said Specific Plan Line did show a future interchange location at
Vine land Road; and
WHEREAS, ongoing urbanization has created the need for a more specific definition
of the area required for this interchange; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield has now caused to be prepared a legal
description and plat for the Specific Plan Line for the interchange at Vineland Road and
State Route 178 ("Interchange Specific Plan Line"); and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield has filed a Notice of Exemption for the adoption
of this Interchange Specific Plan Line; and
WHEREAS, all required notices concerning adoption of the Interchange Specific
Plan Line have been provided; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to adopt said Interchange Specific Plan
Line as shown on Exhibit "A" (map and legal description) attached hereto and incorporated
by reference herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1 . The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by
reference.
2. The Interchange Specific Plan Line for Vineland Road and State Route 178
as shown on Exhibit "A", is hereby adopted.

SR - 178/ Vineland Avenue Interchange
That certain line lying within those portions of Sections 17, 18, 19 and 20, Township 29 South, Range
29 East, Mount Diablo Meridian, in the County of Kern, State of California, and being more
particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the section comer common to Sections 17, 18, 19 and 20, Township 29 South, Range
29 East, Mount Diablo Meridian; thence along the common line of said sections 17 and 18, North 000
28' 22" East - 764.99 feet for the Point of Beginning hereof; thence leaving said Section Line and
crossing Section 17 for the following nine (9) courses: (1) South 890 31' 38" East for 58.00 feet to a
point on a line parallel with and distant 58.00 feet easterly of said Section Line, (2) along said parallel
line, South 000 28' 22" West - 49.21 feet, (3) South 050 41' 40" East - 394.69 feet, (4) South 890 31'
38" East - 146.16 feet for the beginning of a curve to the right, (5) in a southeasterly direction 163.54
feet along the arc of said curve to the right, having a radius 359.99 feet and through a central angle of
26001' 43", (6) South 630 29' 55" East for 489.10 feet for the beginning of a curve to the left, (7) in a
southeasterly direction 397.19 feet along the arc of said curve to the left, having a radius of 550.00 feet
and through a central angle of 41022'39", (8) North 750 01' 26" East - 391.66 feet to a point on the
curving northerly line of State Route 178, 250.00 feet wide, as shown on the State of California
Department of Transportation Right-of-Way map for said State Route 178, District 6, Kern County
Post Mile R8.59 - Sheet 28, being a curve to the right from which point the center bears North 230 59'
56" West, (9) across State Route 178 Right-of-Way along said radial line South 230 59' 56" East _
249.99 feet to a point on the curving southerly line of said State Route 178, being a curve to the right
from which point the center bears North 230 59' 56" West; thence crossing through said Section 20 for

607.10 feet along the arc of said curve to the right, having a radius of 5124.74 feet and through a
central angle of 06041' 15", (2) leaving the south line of State Route 178, South 670 43' 27" West _
221.65 feet, (3) South 540 00' 19" West - 468.57 feet for the beginning of a curve to the left, (4) in a
southwesterly direction 736.33 feet along the arc of said curve to the left, having a radius of 1200.00
feet and through a central angle of 35009' 27", (5) South 180 50' 53" West - 251.78 feet to a point
lying 58.00 feet east of and measured at right angles to the Section Line common to Sections] 9 & 20,
(6) along a line parallel with said Section Line, South 00022' 29" West - 49.21 feet, (7) at right angles
to said Section Line, North 890 3 l' 31" West - ] ] 6.00 feet to a point measured 58.00 feet west of and
measure at right angles to said Section Line; thence crossing through Section 19 for the following

along a line parallel to said Section Line, North 000 28' 22" East - 49.21 feet, (3) at right angles to said
Section Line, South 890 3] , 38" East - 58.00 feet to the Point of Beginning.
The distances shown hereon are grid distances. Ground distances may be obtained by dividing the grid
distances by the mean combination factor of 0.9999482.
