Dear Honorable, Mayor and Members of the Bakersfield City Council:
The Cities of Chaffer, Taft and Maricopa have diligently been
· . seeking replacement City Attorney services over the last months.
Interviews for the various attorney firms are scheduled for
December 2, 1988, however the.cities involved are concerned
about timing. We are asking from you a two (2) month extension
on the City Attorney services to allow us to negotiate appropri-
ate contracts with a replacement attorney. The Cities are con-
tinuing earnestly to obtain replacemen~ services and are pre-
sently reviewing several different firms for the position. Be-
cause the time frame has become so close and we are amidst the
holiday season, the culmination of this process appears to be
difficult. We hope that you will see it fit to continue the
services for the additional time frame allowing us to make a
more smooth transition.
