City Hall Bakersfield, CA 93301 Dear Councilman Mc Dermott, This package contains our community based organization's request for $50,000 of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to enable us to undertake Phase IV of our Revitalization Plan (copy enclosed in application) for Southeast Bakersfield. Our approach is to organize local area residents and business interests and coordinate with service providers in an overall effort to improve our target area (SEEZ Incentive Area and Census Tracts 21 & 22). We believe that working through public-private partnerships we can successfully reach our goal. Our planned projects include: Phase I 1. SRO Housing Project - $ units 2. Small Group Home - 6 bedrooms Phase II Negotiate for site control of City owned Lakeview area properties to develop mixed use project with office, retail, and commercial leased space and additional SRO housing. Both projects will be held in our Community Land Trust being developed to protect and preserve future affordable housing. All income after expenses will go into our revolving fund for future community development projects. All of our projects are intended to serve low and moderate income persons.
