BESOLUTION OF T}~ COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD~ CALIFORNIA~ ORDERING THE
DIMINISHING OF THE ALLEY RUhg~ING NORTHERLY
AND SOUTHERLY THROUGH ~T.OCK NO. 1~7, IN THE
CITY OF BAKERSFI~.D~ CALIFORNIA, TO A
UNIFORM WIDTH OF SEVENTEEN 917) F~T~ AND THE
VACATION OF THE RE~AINING PORTIONS THEREOF.
The Council of the City of Bakersfield, California, pur-
suant to the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941,"
being Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, does hereby resolve as follows:
1. That the public interest and convenience require, and
it is hereby ordered that the alley running northerly and southerly
through Block 157, City of Bakersfield, be diminished to a uniform
width of seventeen (17) feet, and the remaining portions of said
alley, consisting of the following described land:
The easterly 3 feet (3') of the 20 foot
alley in Block l~?, City of Bakersfield~
as per "Map of the City of Bakersfield,
Kern County, California," recorded November
2~, 1898, in Map Book No. I at pages 13 and
14, Records of Kern County, California~
be, and the same are hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for
public street purposes, subject to and in conformity with the
Resolution of Intention No. 674 adopted by the Council of said City
on the Zlst day of March, 1949. Reference to said Resolution is
hereby made for further particulars.
2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Resolution, and shall cause a certified copy of this Resolution~
attested by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded
in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Kern,
California.

The Conncil of the City of Bakersfield, California~ pur-
suant to the provisions of the "Street Vacation .act of 19%1," being
Division 9 of the Streets and Hig!uvays Code of the State of California~
does hereby resolve as follows:
Sectio.n_ l: That it is the inteution of the Council of the
City of Bakersfield~ California, to order the follo~ving work to be
done and improve~ent to be ~ade in said City, to wit:
That the alley rurn~ing northerly and southerly through
Block 157, City of Bakercfield~ be diminished to a uniform width of
seventeen (17) feet, and the remaining portions of said alley be
vacated and closed.

reference is hereby made to a .map on file in the office of the City

California.
S.e.¢$ion. 2: That the hour of 8 o'clock P. ~i., on the llth
day of April, 1949, in the Council Chambers in the City H~ll~
Bakersfield, California~ be and the sa~ne is hereby fixed as the
time and place when and where all persons interested in or objecting
to the proposed vacation may appear before the Council and offer
evidence in relation thereto.
Section ~: That the Superintendent of Streets of the City

of Bakersfield~ California~ be a~ld he is hereby directed to cause
"Notice of Street Vacation" to be posted as recuired by the said
"Street Vacation Act of 1941~" beir~ Division 9 of the Streets a~l
Highways Code of the State of Cali~'ornia; and the Council of said
City hereby elects to proceed under the provisions of said Act.
Section 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution~ and shall cause the sa~ue to be posted on the bulle-
tin board at the City Hall of said City within fifteen (15~) days
after its passage.

At the last regular meeting of the Planntng Com-
mission held on November 3rd., it was reco~nended that
the petition of Kirby S. Bledget relative to the clos-
ing of an alley in the Santa Fe Addition No 1 be ap-
proved.
The petition requested the closing of the alley
oetween Lees ~ and 4. In consideration for the closing
of this alley, Mr. Bledget has agreed to deed to the
city, the east 10 feet of Lot 1.
It was recommended that the approval of this
~etition oe subject to the following conditions:
1. That the east 10 feet of Lot 1 deeded to the
city be improved in accordance with stanaards
set up by the City Engineering Department.
~. T~at a 10 foot utility easement be maintained
in tl~e center of the alley between Lots 3 and 4.

STREET VACATION PROCEEDINGS
MARIAN S. IRVIN, being first duly sworn, deposes and says:
That she is now and was during all the times herein
mentioned, the duly appointed, qualified and acting clerk of the
C~t¥ of Bakersfield and Ex-Officio Clerk of the Council thereof.
That on the 21st day of March, 1949, the Council of
said City passed and adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 674,
copy of which is attached hereto.
That in aceordnance with Section 8522 of' the Streets and
Highways Code o£ the State of California and Section I of Ordinance
No. 527 New Series of the City of Bakersfield, which ordinance
provides for the manner of giving notice of the passage of ordinances
of said City, she costed a copy of said Resolution of Intention
No. 674 on the bulletin hoard at the City Mall of said City: that
said oostlng was made within fifteen ~15) days after the passage
of said Hesolut~on of Intention and said cooy remained posted at said
place for a period of five (5) consecutive days thereafter.
