The Council of the City of Bakersfield, California, pur- suant to the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, does hereby resolve as follows: 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and it is hereby ordered that the alley running northerly and southerly through Block 157, City of Bakersfield, be diminished to a uniform width of seventeen (17) feet, and the remaining portions of said alley, consisting of the following described land: The easterly 3 feet (3') of the 20 foot alley in Block l~?, City of Bakersfield~ as per "Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, California," recorded November 2~, 1898, in Map Book No. I at pages 13 and 14, Records of Kern County, California~ be, and the same are hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, subject to and in conformity with the Resolution of Intention No. 674 adopted by the Council of said City on the Zlst day of March, 1949. Reference to said Resolution is hereby made for further particulars. 2. Section ~: That the Superintendent of Streets of the City -1- of Bakersfield~ California~ be a~ld he is hereby directed to cause "Notice of Street Vacation" to be posted as recuired by the said "Street Vacation Act of 1941~" beir~ Division 9 of the Streets a~l Highways Code of the State of Cali~'ornia; and the Council of said City hereby elects to proceed under the provisions of said Act. In consideration for the closing of this alley, Mr. Bledget has agreed to deed to the city, the east 10 feet of Lot 1. It was recommended that the approval of this ~etition oe subject to the following conditions: 1.
