5. DEFERRED BUSINESS
A. KERN RIVER PARKWAY PROJECTS
Chair Irma Carson noted that she and Jacquie Sullivan attended a special meeting
of the Committee on Monday, July 22, at 9:00 a.m. at Yokuts Park for the purpose
of a tour of the proposed turf projects. Also in attendance were City staff and
representatives from the Kern River Parkway Foundation. Committee Member
Mark Salvaggio was absent.
For those in attendance today that were unable to attend the tour on Monday, John
Stinson-clarified that the on-site meeting was necessary as at the Committee
meeting on July 9, an agreement could not be reached and there was discussion
that the original designation was turfing up to the edge of the island not quite to the
west end of Yokuts Park. After on-site discussions, it was agreed among the
Committee, staff and the Kern River Parkway representatives to complete the
turfing all the way to the west end of Yokuts Park. Committee Member Salvaggio
agreed and the Committee recommended an oral report be presented to the
Council at its July 24 meeting.

Ginny Gennaro, Parks Superintendent Frank Fabbri, and Park Supervisor Terry
McCormick.
