will be called Citizens Community Services Advisory Committee. The changes will
be made to the Ordinance and it will be sent back to the Council with a
recommendation (background) from the Committee that it be adopted.
B. YMCA PROVISIONS OF COMMUNITY SERVICES PROGRAMS
Lee Andersen stated that, as requested by the YMCA and directed by the
Committee, he had an initial meeting with the YMCA regarding cosponsorship of
programs/activities; however, a new YMCA executive director is just coming on line
and a meeting is to be scheduled soon. The executive director of the Boys and Girls
Club has been contacted and a meeting will be set to discuss/initiate programming;
interest was indicated in after school programming.
The Committee suggested contacting other organizations providing recreational
activities in the City's sphere such as: Friendship House, YWCA, Sports Park, and
the elementary schools regarding after school programs, and other organizations.
It was noted that the Intergovernmental Relations Committee had requested a
complete package of all facilities and programs available in the entire Bakersfield

approval and will be distributed and available to the Council and Committees.
