ROLL CALL The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. Members present: Councilmember Irma Carson, Chair; Councilmember Mark Salvaggio 2. KERN RIVER PARKWAY FOUNDATION DONATION OF LABOR AND MATERIALS FOR PROPOSED PROJECT ON THE KERN RIVER BIKE PATH At its January 11, 1995 meeting the Council referred to this Committee a proposal from the Kern River Parkway Foundation to install an irrigation system and plant trees within the Kern River Parkway near Truxtun and Coffee. Greg Polubinsky of Martin-Mclntosh, the landscape architect for the project, and Fay Cox, Coordinator of Governmental Affairs with Texaco, Inc. discussed the project with the Committee and City staff. The Parkway Foundation will be providing labor and materials to install irrigation and trees. Funding for the project will be provided by Texaco. Similar projects on the Parkway have been successfully completed by these organizations in the past. The Committee requested that all plans and specifications be reviewed and approved by the Parks Division and Public Works and that all work be supervised by City staff. Based on the above, the Committee recommends a report go to the full Council on February 8, asking the Council to accept the report and approve the Kern River Parkway Foundation's request to comPlete the project at Truxtun and Coffee Road. B. 1995 MEETING CALENDAR A meeting schedule will be set when the third member of the Committee is on board. 7. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 4:50 p.m. City staff in attendance: John W. Stinson, Assistant City Manager; Lee Andersen, Community Services Manager; Gene Bogart, Water/Sanitation Manager; Frank Fabbri, Parks Superintendent. Others: Marc Benjamin, Reporter, The Bakersfield Californian.; Greg Polubinsky, Architect, Martin-Mclntosh Engineering and Surveying; and Fay Cox, Coordinator of Governmental Affairs, Texaco, Inc.
