6. NEW BUSINESS
A. KERN RIVER PARKWAY PROJECTS
Lee Andersen gave a brief overview of the proposal to turf the area along the river
at Yokuts Park. Judy Skousen provided information regarding conformance with
the Kern River Plan.
Kern River Parkway Foundation representative Bill Cooper said there was no
problem with turf between the steep area with the small island and Highway 99
Bridge. Also, there was no problem with trees being trimmed to accommodate
turfed areas.
The Committee requested that staff meet with Parkway representatives to identify
specific areas to be turfed, and then appointments would be made with staff for
Committee members to visit the site to better understand the proposal.
A special meeting was set for July 23, 1996 at 4:15 p.m.
