Dear Kevin:
At a meeting of the Bakersfield City Council's Convention Center
and Community Services Committee held on February 25, 1991, the
issue of Little League facilities was discussed. Z' informed
them of the initial ~onversation between you and Z on or around
November 26, 1990, regarding your intention to form a Northeast
Little League and your request to be allowed to use one of the
diamonds at the Bakersfield Sports Complex for this league. Z
also explained to them that Z had suggested to you that you
contact Bakersfield College to reserve their diamond since I
could not commit, the City diamonds not knowing what our
requirements would be during the spring. Finally, I told them
of our lal;est c~nversat~_on c~ February 7, 1991, at Whic.h time
you informed me that your plans had changed, that it was too
late for this year-but you wou3d try to get the ]eague started
beginning in 1992.
The Council Committee, after a brief discussion, directed that
I correspond with you and inform you that should you desire in
the future, the Recreation Division will work with you and
assist you in securing facilities for your Little League
.operation.
Should you have any questions, please contact me at 326-3014.
Sincerely,
Recreation Superintendent

Re: Silver Creek Nei~bOrhood P~k
Dear Council Members,
Milazzo & Associates, on behalf of Castle & Cooke Development Corporation, is working with
the Planning Commission and Department Staff on a General Plan Amendment affecting an
"enhanced" neighborhood park of about 15 acres in the southwest Bakersfield community of
Silver Creek. Castle & Cooke is excited about participating in the project which is envisioned to
be a great benefit to the neighborhood as well as to the City of Bakersfield, and which will also
provide community residents with enhanced recreational opportunities. We wish to request that
the Council consider issues relating to financing and maintenance as they affect the General Plan
Amendment currently being reviewed by the Commission.
Thank you for your attention to this request.
Sincerely,
