SUBJECT: M_a_y the City Council pass a resolution su~portinq the
toxic initiative measure on the June ballot?
It is the opinion of this office that, under current law,
the Bakersfield City Council may pass a resolution in support of
the County toxic initiative measure. Our research indicates that
there are no legal prohibitions against this type of action by the
Council.
