AGENDA SUMMARY REPORT
URBAN DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Thursday, September 10, 1992
12:00 noon .--
City Manager's Conference Room
1. Sidewalk Pushcart Food Vendor Ordinance (Michael Allford)
Mr. Allford presented a draft Ordinance generally agreed to by the sidewalk vendors. There was a
question as to whether the small pushcart vendors like LaRosa should be required to carry $1,000,000
insurance. The Committee preference was not to require it. Attorney and Treasurer to meet with
the vendors with this draft of the Ordinance.
2. Adoption of 1991 Uniform Fire Code (Steve Johnson and Larry Toler)
The State of California has already adopted the code and we are required to enforce it. There are
no significant changes proposed. The BIA has a copy to review. Report their comments back at the
next Committee meeting. Schedule for City Council on October 21.
3. Riverlakes Transportation Fee (Alan Tandy)
Mr. Frank Lopez of Riverlakes agreed to pay the $200,000. Report this back to City Council
September 16.
4. Southwest GET Transfer Station
David Milazzo, Chester Moland and Steve Ruggenberg explained the difficulty they are having
negotiating an agreement with the property owner for a transfer site in front of the K-Mart on
Wilson Road. They are behind schedule and are looking into a temporary arrangement to move the
transfer site from Ming Avenue to Wible Road, west of Valley Plaza. GET may request City
approval to use eminent domain to acquire the Wilson Road site.
