1. Hotel Update (Alan Tandy)
Public comment and response has been good. The prevailing wage issue is still out
there but the contractor believes they can get between 45% and 72% committed to
union labor, but this is in limbo pending bids. If pressed, we may file a request with
the Superior Court for a determination. They are committed to taking competitive
bids from at least four companies representing each of the trades. The DDA has a
few more details to be resolved in the next few days. The Council may wish to set
· a special meeting to give more time to review.
2. Council on Competitiveness Report - Status of Staff Response
The department heads have prepared responses which Jake Wager has coordinated.
Gail Waiters will now prepare a report for the Committee and City Council.
