1. Hotel Update - Alan Tandy
Staff reviewed the difference in cost estimates to complete the project, some
of the changes to be considered to reduce costs, methods of financing to
generate more money for the project and some of the outstanding issues.
The Committee asked that the same information be provided to the full
Council in Executive Session.
2. South Beltway Cost - Ed Schulz
The cost comparison memo (2a) and letter to Kern COG (2b) were reviewed.
Staff will attend Kern COG meeting and will continue to evaluate alternative
alignments east of Union Avenue.
3. Discussion of Ordinance on Juvenile Detention Facilities
A draft ordinance based on an interim opinion will not be considered because
the City is denied jurisdiction by the State over homes for 6 or fewer.
4. Building Department Notices to Stop Work - Jack Hardisty
Memo from Jack Leonard to Jack Hardisty (#4) was reviewed. Procedures
for Stop Work Notices and Correction Notices were reviewed and considered
adequate. Clarity in communication is to be emphasized.
5. Set Next Meeting
August 19, 1993.
