AGENDA SUMMARY REPORT
URBAN DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Wednesday, March 3, 1993
12:00 Noon
City Manager's Conference Room
1. Maintenance District 1, Div. 5, Northwest of Cailoway and Meacham (Ed Schulz)
To address the problem of informing future property owners about potential future
costs, we now require a covenant be recorded so it will show up on each sale. The
cost per unit should go down on this with more units.
2. Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Master Plan (Ed Schulz)
We have two different opinions about the metro sewerage plan from engineering
firms. More detailed study needed to evaluate environmental, engineering and
financial issues. A request for proposals will go out shortly. The firm selected to do
the study will not be eligible to do the design or construction work to ensure
objectivity of the study.
3. Sewer Service to Northeast and Related Development (Ed Schulz)
Development interest in the northeast is still strong. Road issues coming into play
and need to resolve those with CalTrans. Water interest coming together on a
comprehensive service plan. Focused EIR about to begin. Over 80% ownership
support for the district.
4. Hotel Update (Alan Tandy)
We have been working with two prospects and a backup. Now several others are
claiming interest and "great ideas." Nothing new from local investors. The other
prospect is trying to firm up relationship with convention center. Some volatile
issues are related to concessions, catering and City involvement.
