SUBJECT: Freeway Status Update

*Board of Supervisor's hearing at 2 pm today.
*Rider Tract acquisition is on Wednesday's Council agenda.
*Negotiations for the "JTbi" property west 'of Renfro have been on-
hold pending approval of their ]project. We expect to resume talks
shortly and to .have a purchase a. greement to the Council in 4-8
weeks.
*Freeway alignment may be adopted by Council at the Jul]e 5th
meeting.
Sou'th Beltwax
*Alternate route alignment studies will be resumed this wee]~ by
City staff.
*Kern COG has subm~ted a $].30,000 project to CalTrans for a rotate
adoption and alignment st~[dy. Word from CalTrans should be
received in 2-3 weeks. Funds, i~' approved, will be available July
1, 1991. This study will mesh with work completed by City staff.
*Funds are being budgeted (91-92) to possibly acquire a freeway
strip east of S.H. 99 from Bob Jackson.
