ADJOURNMENT DBT:~p FILE COPY NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE URBAN DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Urban Development Committee of the City Council jointly with the Kern County Board of Supervisors liaisons to the Urban Development Committee will hold a Special Meeting for the purpose of a Committee Meetin(~ on Tuesday, November 7, 1995, at 4:00 p.m., in the City Manager's Conference Room, City Hall - Second Floor, Suite 201, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, to consider: 1. Smith AGENDA SUMMARY REPORT URBAN DEVELOPMENT COMMI'R'EE (Joint meeting with County Board of Supervisors Uaisons) Wednesday, November 1, 1995 12:15 p.m. City Manager's Conference Room 1. ROLL CALL Call to Order at 12:22 p.m. Present: Councilmembers Kevin McDermott, Chair; Patdcia Smith and Randy Rowles. 2. APPROVAL OF OCTOBER 17, 1995 MINUTES Approved as submitted. 3. PRESENTATIONS None 4. PUBLIC STATEMENTS Councilmember McDermott commented on the handicapped ramp in the front of City Hall being open for use. He reminded staff to change the directional signs. URBAN DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE AGENDA SUMMARY REPORT Wednesday, November 1, 1995 Page -2- 5. DEFERRED BUSINESS A. MULTI-USE FACILITY Representatives from the County Board of Supervisors met with the Committee and staff to discuss the parameters for support of a multi-use facility. The County expressed support for the City being lead on this project, and for a ballot measure with very clear language about the basic elements of financing. Their main concern is a guarantee of repayment of their loan at the current interest rate. This issue will be addressed at their November 14 meeting. The Committee voted to delete the southwest site from consideration and asked staff to provide the. Committee with additional information and financing options for the downtown and Sam Lynn sites. A special meeting was called for 4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 1995 and the County was invited to attend that meeting. 6. NEW BUSINESS None 7. ADJOURNMENT - Adjourned at 1:38 p.m. Representatives from Kern County: Supervisor Barbara Patdck, Field Representative Bob Devereaux for Supervisor Steve Perez, County Administrative Officer Joel Heinrichs, and Director of Policy Analysis Adel C. Klein.
