Subject: REFERRAL OF PROPOSED OR I~ ANCES
Please refer the following proposed ordinances to whichever com-
mittee you deem appropriate:
1. FAMILY DAY CARE HOMES._

There
was a change.in the Health and/
Safety code concerning allowing day care homes in~
residential
areas. The ordinance is to bring City
compliance with State .laws.

~ckground: The City Clerk has requested that the
approval of Council Meeting Minutes be placed on
the Consent Calendar to facilitate streamlining the~
Agenda. This ordinance, when adopted, will imple-
ment this change.
3. USE OF BICYCLES, SKATEBOARDS, ETC., IN BUSINESS DIST.
' ~ack~round: This ordinance makes it illegal to skate-~
board on the steps of City Hall.

ORDINANCE NO. NEW SERIES
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 10.52.010 OF
THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
USE OF BICYCLES, SKATEBOARDS AND SIMILAR
VEHICLES IN THE BUSINESS DISTRICT.
BE IT ORDAINED by the'council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTIONal.
Section 10.52.010 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
10.52.010 Restrictions on use in business district,
City Hall and other City-owned building.
It is unlawful for any person upon a bicycle, roller
skates, skateboard or by means of any coaster, toy vehicle or
similar device to go upon any sidewalk in any business district,
or upon bhe steps, landings, entranceways or halls of City Hall
or any another City-owned building.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter 'provisions and shall become effective thirty (30)
days from and after the date of its passage.
